Faith NIghts

By now you have probably heard of “Faith Night” at professional ball games. Stadiums are being packed on these nights as fans come out to hear a concert by a well-known contemporary Christian artist or band. They also listen to a Christian speaker and one of the ballplayers, and receive free gifts such as bobble-head dolls of Bible characters. At some Faith Nights across the country fans also receive a free outdoor Bible from SOA and hear Jimmy speak. Faith Nights have swept the country, being called by the New York Times “the most successful marketing campaign currently in all of sports.”

Brent High is credited with the concept, and currently owns Third Coast Sports - the main facilitator of Faith Night. When Brent was 13 years old in 1989 he attended a youth festival at the Grand Old Opry in Nashville, Tennessee and heard Jimmy Sites speak on the subject “God Chose a Teenager.” Brent was one of the 8,000 teenagers that day to accept the 30-day challenge to not do anything without first asking the question, “What would Jesus do if He were in my shoes?” Whatever the answer is, you do it no matter what it costs you or what anybody thinks. Brent claims that this challenge changed his life and has given him direction even to this day. It was natural for him to reconnect with Jimmy years later and invite him to participate in Faith Night.

SOA-sponsored Faith Night events have been covered by numerous media including the Dan Patrick Radio Show, Sports Illustrated, the New York Times, USA Today, and most major television networks and newspapers across the country and on several continents including Europe, Australia, and Africa.
