Jeremy is an adventurous 13-year-old boy who loves to explore caves and rappel cliffs with his dad Ben. His younger sister Brooke decides to join them on an adventure that leads them on a treasure hunt filled with various dangers. Their journey involves an old map that supposedly shines light on an ancient Indian legend about a chief named Powhatan and a tribal location known as The Way of the Cross. Something wild keeps following the trio during their adventure, and it howls like a giant wolf. But it 's the ending in a dark cave that is most surprising.

Jimmy Sites has written an adventure of fantastic imagery, relatable characters and fast-moving action. How refreshing to follow a family of characters that share such loving relationships and are led by a strong father. Jimmy writes with such excellent suspense that it kept me turning the pages - a bit too quickly at times - to see what was going to happen next!
We gave this book to our daughter Kailah who has never really enjoyed reading. We were surprised and thankful to see that she didn't want to put the book down. She loved the story, read it quickly and can't wait until the next book.
